Discover the wonderful creative world of art journaling
What is an Art Journal?
Think of an Art Journal in the same way you would a diary or daily journal. However, rather than writing notes about your day you create something visual. The inspiration for it doesn’t have to be what has happened to you today or this week, it can be anything that takes your fancy. Some people will draw and paint the whole journal entry, others will cut, stick and collage their entry. Here are a few examples of some of my journal pages using different techniques to create them:
“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.”
– Pablo Picasso
You will be shown examples of journals & the materials used to create them. A variety of materials will be available for you to try with guidance from working artists. Help & ideas will be given to aid you in finding your own creative path.
Parent & Child Courses
For children & adults the benefits of journaling are extensive. It can be expressive, experimental & educational. Ideal for Art Students wanting to develop their sketchbook skills. It is also a way to reduce the pressures of revision & academic work, or just to explore creativity & have fun. A way to escape!
When you book a Parent & Child course, you get to customise your experience. You will be the only 2 here in the studio & we can work on the skills you wish to learn or simply have fun & relax in a creative environment.
